Upon receiving a call about an outlet losing power, I began by inspecting the circuit to identify the issue. It was discovered that the circuit had been overloaded, causing the breaker to trip. After resetting the breaker, I found that the circuit was not GFCI-protected as it should have been. To ensure safety and compliance, I installed a GFCI receptacle, providing the necessary protection against electrical faults. This solution not only restored power to the outlet but also enhanced the overall safety of the electrical system.
Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough assessment to determine why the home was experiencing partial power. After initial observations, I began a systematic troubleshooting process. This involved checking the main electrical panel, examining individual circuit breakers, and testing various outlets and appliances. I also reviewed the home's electrical history and any recent changes. Despite these efforts, the issue persisted. I then contacted the power company to verify if there were any known outages or issues in the area. It was confirmed that the problem was indeed with the power company, not the home’s internal electrical system. This conclusion was reached after ruling out all possible internal causes and coordinating with the power company to ensure the issue was properly addressed.
